Devi Dhakshayani at Mansarover

   Srushti Sthithi Vinasanam Sakthiboothe Sanadhani
  Gnachraye Gunamaye Devi Dhakshayini Namosthude

Devi Dhakshayani image here is very different from other icons. The Devi here is in the form of the lake Mansarover. This lake became a holy Devi sthal, the abode of Devi Dhakshayani, because the skull from her burnt dismembered body fell here. (refer to 'Yoga-agni' in 'Abodes of devi' for background story) This place also called Thyaga Peetam Brahmah himself is supposed to have created this lake. This lake is said to be the 'right fore-arm' of Devi Parvathi the consort of Shiva. The lake and the mountains in the back-drop give an impression of the Devi in a saree of differant hues of blue. The heavenly swans in the lake when they quake give the sound "Uma Uma"- the other name for Parvathi. In the banks of the lake and in its depth there are small and big stones in the rough shapes of various 'icons' of gods and goddesses.
The peak nearby is in the form a white 'meru'. Meru is the solid three-dimensional form of Sri Chakra (Srichakra standing tall). Para-Sakthi is in the centre of the Sri Chakra full of grace, ready to give her blessings to all those that take solace in her. She gives strength to her devotees to attain perfection in mind and body and ultimate salvation.
The Devi is in the form of a lake here to purify the soul of her devotees who take a dip in the holy waters.
The white 'Meru' mountain set amidst the end-less sky in the horizon presents the picture of "Siva-Sakthi-aykyam"- the fusion of 'Siva and Sakthi' which is the very basis of the existence of the whole universe. The smaller peaks all round are like sentinels - Siva-ganas- of the Supreme. In this heavenly atmosphere darshan of the god and the goddess is enthralling.
The trinity of Gods - Brahma, Vishnu and Rudhra, are devi's incarnations to carry on the three-fold ordained duties of 'creation, sustenance and destruction'
Devi Parasakthi's incarnations and forms are very many. This place is very special and important to attain Her grace, being in the roof of the world.
Om Sakthi
